WE ENVISION thriving education and opportunities in the Coastal Bend that prepare our region’s residents for learning, for work and for life. Our top quality schools provide improved facilities and smaller student-teacher ratios, producing more high school graduates who are well educated and ready for the future. Accessible higher education and job training prepare Coastal Bend residents for new opportunities in a changing economy, ensuring a skilled and qualified workforce for local industry. Life-long learning opportunities result in a more literate, educated and informed community. Educational excellence and appealing attractions help retain our existing population while drawing new residents to the region. The Coastal Bend has a flourishing arts and cultural scene, along with quality entertainment venues and family-friendly activities that enrich our lives and increase community pride.

Early Childhood-Grade 12 Education

1 Quality Public Schools. The Coastal Bend has top quality public school systems with highly trained, sufficiently rewarded teachers that attract businesses and families to the region.

2 Pride in Our Schools and Facilities. Coastal Bend residents take great pride in our educational system, with new or improved educational facilities and technologies that foster successful learning.

3 Smaller Student-Teacher Ratios. Our educational system is known for its ‘learning communities’ with smaller student-teacher ratios.

4 Higher Graduation Rates. The Coastal Bend has substantially increased high school graduation rates and decreased the number of dropouts through innovative programs and services developed to serve individuals from diverse educational, cultural or special needs backgrounds.
